Lucy tried apple and sweet potato this week. She loves sweet potato but wasn’t sure on apple. When we were out for brunch she was given icy apple and was not very happy! Here are some of the faces she pulled.

Lucy is now rolling around a lot. Nearly always from her back to her front as she loves lying on her tummy. She hasn’t quite got the hang of front to back so she often gets stuck.
She’s had some time in the hammock which she LOVES! She giggles and laughes the whole time except when the camera flashes in her eyes.
We’ve also had our usual swimming lesson, clinic visit (7.2kg) and lunch with Angie and kids.
We had Saturday brunch with Dave & Kel at Cronulla. Andrew and I got to the movies after brunch while grandma and grandad babysat. We saw ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ which was good fun. It was so fun going out to the movies by ourselves. We felt like we were ditching school.
Lucy can pick up toys she has dropped. She is also sleeping 12 hours at night often without interruption. What a clever girl! Andrew and I have started cleaning out the study!! The recycling bin is full and there is a lot to go!

It’s carrot week this week and as you can see Lucy enjoyed getting the carrot everywhere as well as eating some. We could tell she was enjoying it when she kept grabbing the spoon, opening her mouth wide and shoving the spoon in her mouth. It is fun feeding her and I have to stop getting excited about all the food I could get her to taste and just concentrate on one at a time.
Swimming was fun! Danie’s mum took a few photos of us. Lucy was the teachers pet and was used as the ‘demo model’ a few times. The others said it was because she is the only girl but really she is just the best swimmer!!?!!! Only joking. She likes floating, humpty dumpty and sucking on her floaties. The water is pretty warm so it is just like having a big bath (except there are lots of other people around). The mums had lunch afterwards which was great to catch up on things.
We have visited Andrew’s work a couple of times, once for a BBQ and once for a meeting. There are a lot of flies at Lucas Heights – there must be something about that place! Andrew went on a couple of harbour cruises… a hard life esp. when poor old grandad is left working on the deck by himself in the 35 degree heat! Andrew also had a work dinner and SWAG so we have hardly seen him this week. Hopefully we can fix that on the weekend and go out together. We’re off to Craft group now.

Some big firsts this week – first swimming lesson and first ‘solid’ food. Unfortunately there aren’t any photos for these two events but you can be sure that Lucy adored both.
At swimming she is learning to float as well as put her face under water. Her first solid food was rice cereal and she didn’t seem to mind it even though it is tasteless. I think we will be going through a few bibs though!

We had lunch at a Lebanese restaurant in Burwood with Dave & Kel. |

We also had lunch with Michelle & Megan, had a visit to the Baby Health Clinic, got an antenna installed and Grandpa worked on the pool deck. I also finished a putting together a movie of our holiday photos. Watch out its 35 minutes long!

The long weekend consisted of gardening, gardening and more gardening. It all started on Friday when I ripped the ivy out of the front garden. Just as I started doing it I realised that this was going to create a whole lot of work but decided to go ahead anyway! Lucy very much enjoyed being in the outdoors watching the leaves, the bugs and Sophie. We got 9 bags of weeds from the backyard dug up by Andrew, me, Nan and Grandpa. We filled 2.5 green bins and there is plenty more waiting to go in. There’s still so much to do (and the lawn mower isn’t working!)
So that brings us to Tuesday when we went to Miranda, Wednesday when we went to the baby health clinic and then today. What surprised me at the clinic was that most of the people there had not been out to dinner with their husbands since their baby had been born. A very cautious lot. Enough said.
Lucy is starting to get into a routine but hasn’t settled on it yet. We had a 3am feed the other day but we’ve also had two nights of sleeping through. As per the photo Lucy’s birth announcement has been framed and hung in her room.
Lucy continues to love bath time and here she is with Dad who just taught her how to splash with her legs (hence the wet t-shirt)
