Lucy was caught standing up in her cot! After hearing some scratching noises that I hadn’t heard before I checked the webcam to see that she was standing in her cot playing with the blind. I went into her room (quickly!) she let go of the cot bars and fell over, banging her head on the cot bars. Needless to say we moved her mattress down to the lower level of the cot. Since then Lucy has been sitting and standing in her cot whenever she feels like it. In this photo the sandals stayed on for about 5 minutes before being chewed and played with.

Lucy is a bit more mobile. Not crawling like a commando, she still manages to move herself around a room and change from sitting to crawling more easily. She can’t be left alone now as she could easily get up to mischief. She loved going to mothers group (twice) and the library this week especially seeing the duck puppets which she made a dive for!

Lucy loves Sophie. Having been kept apart for some time and with Sophie on holidays there hasn’t been much interaction until now. Lucy squeals with excitement to see Sophie and has been caught pulling her tail and trying to grab her hair. At one point it was all getting a bit too exciting and I had to separate them.

Lucy is enjoying feeding herself fruit. Cut up into small pieces she is able to pick up the small slippery pieces of fruit and rather indelicately shove them in her mouth. Lots of fruit ends up on the floor but its okay because she can be amused for ages trying to feed herself.

Over the past week or so we have done a lot of painting particularly in the study. It just needs one more coat and then the painting tools can be packed away. I finished my last cross stitch project. Time is moving fast. So much to do!

We have started an American blog. Check it out at http://www.americancorrespondent.blogspot.com/

Forty weeks in utero, forty weeks ex utero. Our beautiful Lucinda Rose is a happy, healthy 9 month old! She loves storytime (including the lapsit program at the library), is a good dancer and chats away to herself in a babbling kind of way. She likes detail and inspects things carefully but will put anything in her mouth (including sticks, dust, bird poo and gumnuts). Lots of house things going on that I won’t bore you with. Lucy is at Nanna’s today while I use my christmas vouchers.

Here is the story of our week in pictorial form…

Smiling Lucy! She is a smiley girl especially when we go out. She loves to put on a smile for anyone watching. This week we’ve been out to lunch and out to craft amongst other things. Lucy especially enjoys the childrens talk at church and always comes back to her seat with a huge smile.

The back garden is pretty much finished. The lawn is down, the two garden beds have been planted and the gravel has been raked down the side. It looks awesome! A few more plants to go in along the fence and it will be done. Lucy has been swimming a lot in her new floatie seat. (Until yesterday when the pool filter died!)

We had a great pizza party on Sunday! Lucy enjoyed it very much even though she didn’t have any pizza. She now loves spaghetti bolognaise so we are keeping within the Italian theme.
