Lucy is providing us with lots of entertainment these days. She has so much energy which she can use for both good and evil! Our days are extremely fun or extremely frustrating so when I wake up I never know what each day is going to be like. Lucy is extremely smart and thus needs a constant stream of activities to be involved with (with reading still high on the priority list).
At the beginning of January Lucy got a baby doll called Fern. She loves to take Fern for a ride in the stroller, cook her some food in the kitchen or throw (!) her into bed for ‘night night’. It is fun to see how she cares for Fern and looks after her. Every time we see a real baby Lucy gets very excited and wants to be the mum!
Some new things Lucy loves are:
- piggy back rides
- licking the beaters
- showering
- sitting on a dining chair instead of the high chair
- playing hide and seek (though she closes her eyes when hiding!)
Now that she is talking a lot more we have some funny conversations:
Fiona: What’s your name? Is it Lucy?
Lucy: No
Fiona: What is your name?
Lucy: Bubba
Upon reading ‘I wish that I had duck feet’ I asked her ‘Lucy do you have a tail?’ Lucy looks around, runs over to her toy box, rummages through and get out her telephone. She puts it on the floor, pulls it by the string and points to it to tell me it is a tail. To use a consulting term this girl thinks outside the box!
She can say lots of different words including ‘smoothie’, ‘billabong’ and ‘shower’ though she often drops syllables I can still understand her.
We had another trip to the doctor this month, this time to determine she has eczema. So she is being lathered with moisturiser and her skin has vastly improved (not that it was very bad to start with).
Enjoy the photos and videos.
